Sign Up Below or email us: Each team will have a 10' x 10' plot. Sand and water for the sculpture will be provided. A Traveling Trophy will be awarded to the winning team. Entry Fee: $500 team entry fee Up to ten team members may sculpt, 5 in the plot at a time. ALL team members will be provided with event t-shirt.
Entry includes half price admission for ALL of your company employees!
"Sand 101" for your team captain or other team member, with a class conducted by a master sculptor (date TBA)
Registration: By Friday, March 19, 2010 (See Form Below) Event Check-In: Saturday, April 10, 2010 -- 7:30 am. Rules: - Contest starts at 9:00 a.m. No shoveling or digging in advance or you may be disqualified.
- Contest ends at 2:30 p.m. No sculpting is allowed after that time or you may be disqualified.
- You must provide your own, tools, buckets, supplies, forms, food, beverages, shade and sun screen.
- Sculptures should be carved in the round. Forms are allowed, but all forms must be removed by the end of the sculpting time.
- No artificial coloring, machinery or decorations allowed.
- Un-sportsman like behavior will not be tolerated. Any violators will be disqualified and be asked to leave the event.
- Judging begins at 3:00 p.m.
- 5 team members maximum in sand plot at any given time during the competition, up to an additional five team members as a "tag team" permitted
- A roster must be submitted in advance with team members.
Judging: The decisions of the judges are final. Sculptures will be judged using the following criteria: - Originality and imagination
- Degree of difficulty
- Artistic Merit
