Leonardo Ugolini -  Fiumana, Italy

In 1998 Leonardo started sculpting sand professionally in Jesolo, Italy. That same year as a member of a two man team he entered the World Championships of sand sculpture. There his team won 1st place People's Choice, best architecture and 3rd place Sculptor's Choice.  He has participated in competitions in Singapore, USA and Canada.

What Leonardo likes about sand is how easy it is to work with, giving a fast result. Leonardo will often design sculptures combining human subjects and beautiful landscapes with inspiring architectural backgrounds. When Leonardo is not busy with sand he is a pioneer of environmentally conscious architecture and enters his family home in competitions for green building.
